Transport Conference for Central and Southeast Europe

Vienna, Austria, December 16th , 2005. EastEuro Link – UK’s ministerial and executive events provider, hosted Inaugural Transport Conference for CSEE on New Business Opportunities in Road and Rail Transport Infrastructure.  CSEE High Government Representatives and region’s leading transport sector experts gathered in Vienna 15-16 December 2005. Capturing both governmental and top practitioners’ perspective the event covered strategic, operational and technical topics in the road and rail industries.

 
H.E. Helmut Adelsberger gave welcome address on behalf of Austrian Government. Opening the event he spoke about Southeast Europe as a focus of Austrian transport policy covering transport infrastructure, sustainability, safety and security and application of ‘IT’.

Very valuable analyses on linkages between transport infrastructure and economic growth and development were exposed. Also the importance of Public and Private Partnership projects through political, economic, monetary, fiscal and legal overview. Conference attendees were especially interested in recent developments in project financing in the various transport infrastructure sectors in CSEE.


Wide array of transport issues were examined in order to answer emerging question: What needs to be done to enable new infrastructure investment possibilities and intermodal transport and logistics to deliver effective solutions for carriers and transport operators?

EastEuroLink showed once again that its communication platform helps strengthening regional integration and facilitating new business relationships.
