Miklos Horvath, General Director, MASPED
Born in 1947, graduated as an electric engineer in Budapest and later obtained a degree in economics. His career started in software development and exports of software products and services in Western Europe. Subsequently he successfully established Hungarian owned software companies in Vienna and Munich. As CEO of these companies he was involved in the start up of the most successful Hungarian software venture GRAPHISOFT.

Between 1988 - 1992 he was deputy CEO and later Board Member of Interag, a major Hungarian trading and holding company. For the same company he was responsible for setting up and managing the car import and distribution business of BMW and later Honda in Hungary.
In 1993 together with a partner he created Ventura an investment company specialized in private equity investments in Hungary. During the years Ventura has been involved in 24 different investment deals varying from privatization, buy outs and outsourcing as well.
Ventura maintains working relationships with a number of local and multinational investors acting as potential as co-investors in Ventura deals. Between 1997-2000 Ventura has been working, on a non–exclusive basis, with Global Equity Investments Group of the Bank of America (GEI) with a mandate to identify private equity investment opportunities in Hungary. In 1998 Ventura acquired the majority of the shares of HUNGAROCAMION the largest transport and logistic company in the Central Europe. GEI and other financial investor DBG (Deutsche Bank) contributed with a capital increase of USD 13m to this investment.
Acting as Chairman and Board Member of HUNGAROCAMION he was focusing on strategy and business development he was actively contributed to the turn around of the company
IN December 2002 the investor group sold their interest in HUNGAROCAMIONB achieving an excellent return of their financial investment.
In April 2003 Ventura carried out a capital increase in the road transport arm of the MASPED group. MASPED is the largest independent forwarding group of the CEE region. The company has been privatized by the management in 1994. The group has operational business units/companies in the rail and road transportation and also active in the warehousing logistic and the related distribution service.
After this equity involvement Mr. Horvath took over the MD position of the company MASPED Tlog. Thanks to the intensive business development company become one of the largest local 3PL of CEE region. Tlog is servicing the large manufacturers who have established production sites in these countries. MASPED Tlog is currently building its regional network and has already established subsidiaries in Slovakia and Rumania.
Mr. Horváth is Member of the Supervisory Board of MASPED Logisztika a warehouse logistic company of the Group.
Mr. Horváth is also member of the Management Committee of the European Freight and Logistic Leaders Forum a high profile business Club of the European logistic industry.
In 2006 large Hungarian logistic companies have created the Hungarian Logistic Cluster (HLC) The Cluster is active in negotiations with the government in working out some basic issues as the Logistic Strategy of Hungary. Mr. Horvath is Chairman of the HLC.

Paul graduated in 1989 with joint honours in Languages, Economics and Politics from the Polytechnic of Kingston in London, UK, and the University of Grenoble, France.
He has over 18 years’ experience in international asset finance, leasing and banking. Prior to joining the Angel Trains Group he spent six years with the HSBC group (specialising in public-sector leasing and specialised asset finance) and four years with The Fuji Bank (specialising in aircraft finance and US leveraged leasing).
In 2000 Paul was responsible for the first true operating lease for passenger trains closed in mainland Europe (with DSB, the Danish State Railway) and has been heavily involved in the growth of Angel Trains International in Western Europe. Today, Paul heads a team with responsibility for the further expansion of Angel Trains International into new markets, including Central and Eastern Europe.
